Lisa:
Hello. I hope all is well with you. I just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you that he is doing great. We have renamed him "Dodger". He went to the vet late last week and they thought he looked great. The vet's prediction was that he will double his current weight so he will be about 80 lbs..... a big boy but not a horse. Attached please find a photo of Dodger and his gang! Thanks again for letting us adopt him.

Hello Lisa.
Bill forwarded your message onto me at work. All we can say is that WE LOVE J.T!
He's adjusting very well and follows me or Bill where ever we go --- even to the bathroom. He sleeps part of the nights with us and then goes to his new bed (in our bedroom). JT licks my husband's arm up and down just like our previous dog did to him (grooming Bill). They have completely bonded.
Bill takes him on 2-3 walks per day (1/2 each). JT loves the new scents and areas around our home and is a good walker...until he sees another dog/squirrel, etc. He just wants to chase and play, play , play. When they return from walking...JT takes an approx. 2 hour nap!
I take him out for about a 15-20 minute walk, after I return from work (our moment of bonding). I talk to him and praise him as he walks so proudly down the road.
No mess in the house, to date. No damage in the house either. He's a good natured, lovable dog. He cherishes the belly rubs and has actually fallen asleep while we rub his tummy. He's so cute sleeping on his back (we'll take a photo and send it to you).
Only thing we see is that JT needs to understand is that he is in his forever home. He tends to become sad when I leave for work (lying by the back door for some time) and jumps on the back door when Bill leaves for 2-3 hours tops. He goes NUTS when Bill comes home and charges through the house like he did when you brought him to our house. He charges like a racing greyhound. When I come home he is wagging his tail and rubbing up against me so much. Of course, i can't but help to pet him and kiss him over and over. I'm sure he will get used to our routine in time and adjust well.
Other than that......all we can say is thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to adopt JT. He's a very good boy and we can see that he came from a good home and foster home.
We'll be in touch. Take care.
Mimi & Bill

Sugar and Toby are finally bonding now. They are both doing great together. We got her a new harness and she looks very pretty. She is a VERY well behaved doggy! We love her to death already!
Here are some pictures of Sugar in our family. We have really enjoyed her ever since she got here Monday. She is such a happy doggy and she is very sweet. She gets super excited each and every time she sees us and even when we just call her over to us. She has been great to play with and even Toby the Dog is getting to like her more and more. Thanks again for bringing Sugar into our lives!
Hi Lisa. I will send you some more pictures soon. Bambi is doing great. She has mastered the dog door; she is so proud of herself. She has also learned how to go up and down the back 2 steps but the steps to go upstairs have so far been too daunting. She is a very loving dog and has proven to be a real Daddy's girl. She and the other dogs get along super too. She has finally decided she likes the weird snacks the other dogs get with their pills; green beans, lettuce, etc. Guess she decided if she couldn't beat 'em, join 'em! She is quite the little chewer though so we got her a stuffed animal and a Kong and some other toys and that helps keep her occupied somewhat. Anyway, we couldn't be happier with her, she is a real sweetie! Thanks for our new addition to our family.

Hi Lisa,
Teddy is doing wonderful. I think he is very happy here with us and we love him. He is such a great little guy. He loves Bayley and
Kyky the kitty as you can see in the photos. We are having so much fun with him and he is very spoiled already.
Thank you for bringing him to us,
Lori
Hi LIsa,
Dakota graduated from beginners class last week and we have started intermediate classes. She is a very quick learner... even the instructor said so...she uses her for examples all the time because she picks up on things pretty quickly. She's just been a sweetheart ... I'm so glad you took her in so we could find her.
Thank you,
Tracey
My family and I are LOVING having Dash in our family! He is beginning to be able to sleep in our beds at night! :) It was very hard to get a pictures of Dash since he is always up and about.
Bryson ( and the rest of the Talbot family)
P.S. Dash says WOOF!

Alex and Kris would like to announce the latest addition to the household. Joining Alex, Kris, Eunice, Baron, and Henry is Summer, a long-haired chihuahua. Summer was adopted through A Labor of Love Dog Rescue, a wonderful group that has saved many dogs, fostering them in individual homes. Visit their site at: http://www.alaboroflovedogrescue.com/index.html. They're awesome!
Summer was born April 16, 2009. She weighs 4 pounds, and is pretty much full-grown. She loves playing "squirrel" (chasing her Summer-sized squeaky squirrel toy), playing fetch with a mini tennie ball, and sleeping in the nearest lap. Happily, Summer is able to go to work with Kris every day, and between bouts of squirrel, likes to sleep in her basket or on a lap.
Welcome Summer!

Hi Lisa,
I just wanted to let you know that we changed Fluffie's name to Daphne and she is doing very well. We are trying to teach her to go outside but we are about 30% successful at this point. She seemed to be shivering when we were outside so I bought her a coat. She is very playful, she runs around the coffee table in circles, it's really funny to watch. She has taken over several of Quincy's stuffed toys. I was weak and let her sleep in my bed, so she stays still all night long but the trick is trying to get dressed to take her out before she goes in my room in the morning. I got the same dog food you were using and she is eating well. I have taken some pictures and I will send them in the next day or so.
Thanks again,
Jean

Hi Lisa
Bailey is doing GREAT! She is relaxed and is making herself right at home. She spent the first couple hours watching the door, I think expecting you to come back for her.
She and Zoey are doing fine together, I think they'll be playing once they get used to each other. Renee plans to spend the night with her so she'll be comfortable during the night and not get scared.
Will keep you posted!
Regards
Bob
Hi Lisa
Bailey continues to do great! She settled in very nicely and is calm, content, and fits right in. She and Zoey are making
attempts to play, once they get the hang of each other!!
Bailey hasn't had an accident, I take her outside and she does her duty and comes back in. Sometimes I'll leave her outside for ten minutes or so on a long leash so she can explore, but she is happiest in the house.
If her previous foster wants to email me, please forward my address to her, or share this email with her. I know how hard it is to give up a foster dog. Just let her know Bailey is very happy! I cannot thank you enough for all your wonderful
rescue efforts, and also for allowing us to make Bailey part of our home.
I'll get some pics and see if I can post them on the facebook page soon,
Best Wishes,
Bob & Family
Bailey is the Golden Retriever on the left.
Hi Lisa - I sent you some pix of Dexter. He is having fun with his fuzzy pals Minor & Doc. I sure love him - he is talking quite a bit now. FUNNY! His hide n seek is adorable. I just love him and he cuddles with me and the guys. Dexter is HOME forever! I love him!!! xo Julie

Hi Lisa,
Just wanted to send you a quick update on Teddy. After a very quiet week last week, he really seems to be perking up! I think he is feeling much better and he is acting much more like himself with energy and playfulness. He wanted to run (didn't let him, though) for the first time yesterday and frollick when we went out : ) Maybe the nice warm weather also helped. We were outdoors much of yesterday and it felt great
Teddy is settling in well. He will heel (with reminders), sit, stay and is very easy to train. He is still alittle leary of Joe and we really think he must have had some negative experiences along the line. Last week he decided to try out my chair in the living room and the sofa. I asked him to get down, then with a firmer tone and motioned down. When he ignored me, I reached for his collar to help him off and he flinched and cowered as if I was going to smack him! His reaction clearly said that he has been hit or hurt at some point. Anyway, I hugged and loved on him and settled him on his bed. Poor boy.
Joe has walked him a couple of times and that seemed to help with his trust and we have discussed having Joe feed Teddy to see if that might help. This weekend Teddy walked up behind the sofa where Joe was sitting and had his arm draped across the back so Joe could pet his head. It was funny. He sat there having his head rubbed with Joe sitting on the sofa and him sitting behind it, but wouldn't come around front for a proper petting. So, things are good there as long as the interacton is on Teddy's terms, which is fine for now.
I have attached a couple of pix and will send a few additional soon.
THANK YOU~ for bringing Teddy into our lives and for all the great work you do on behalf of our furry friends.

Yes! everybody loves her!! I'm going to post pictures to your wall soon on facebook!! We changed her name to Violet and she is getting along very well with her new friend Victor :)

and big back yard in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hi Lisa,
I just wanted to give you an update on how Hercules is doing and send you some pictures. It took some time for him to adjust to his new home, but he is doing great. The first day we had him he cried at the door all day. It was truly heartbreaking and I was worried about him. We kept trying to get him to sit with us and play but he was not interested. That night he didn't sleep a lot - but the next day the the crying stopped and he started to follow Daddy around and engage with the family.
It was a rough start for him, but we continued to give him lots of love and patience and everyday he felt more and more at home. Within a week or so he started to play with toys and it took some time, but he and Scamper play together now too. He loves to lay in our laps, tug and chase us and he sleeps with us every night. He knows he is in his forever home now and he's thriving. Our vet said that you guys did a great job with him, especially his teeth.
Hercules is such a sweet little boy and we just love him to pieces. We are so happy he has joined our family!
Thank you so much for the work you are doing. It's a great thing and I hope you're able to continue for many years.
Take care,
Michele (Marcos, Brendan and Justin)

Lisa ~ I just thought I'd check in and let you know that the baby is doing well. We had a slight name change. She's now Bella. Everytime we played, I would automatically call her Bella. She started answering to it right away, so it was a good transition. She's doing great! She adjusted to everything right away. Potty training it going really well, she's starting to let me know when she wants to go out. Crate training is also going great. The only accident she had in her cage was the first night, but that was to be expected. She started puppy classes last Tuesday and had a blast. She's an extremely smart puppy. She is definately an entertaining little thing, she's just a joy. We go out every night and play ball, which she absoultely loves! I sent you some pictures that we took. She doesn't sit still long enough to get good ones :). We have turned into a very happy family. She was a great choice to for me and thank you for the opportunity to adopt her!

Lisa
Hannah is doing great! She is such a great dog and she has adjusted just fine. She is a little spoiled and loves to cuddle! We really enjoy having her in our family. She has adapted very well and now loves to go in her crate to lay down. She loves going outside and does well on the dog run. She has been a wonderful addition to our family.

Hi Lisa,
I went to the vet the other day, and I now weigh 5.1 Lbs. he said that I was in very good shape and you are to be commended for doing a very professional job of raising and caring for me.
I have learned to walk with a leash in only two days. When I travel in the car with Ma & Pa I lay down between them on my seat and go to sleep,
I'm trying to be well behaved.
I have lots of toys and when I think I've seen them all I find another one I haven't seen before. Just the other day I found a hairy one that I was able
to grab hold of and shake, but to my surprise it was attached to my butt. Boy I am I glad I didn't bit down on it!
I have a lot of stairs in my forever home, about a week ago I decided to investigate, I went up real easily but was timid in coming down,
I cried out for help. Now that I got my confidence I go up and down whenever I want, you should see how fast I can get around.
House breaking progress, well I'm trying. I let Ma & Pa sleep until they get up about 5:45 AM then they take me out. I would go out and
pee then want to come in for my Good Boy Treat. About fifteen minuets later they would be taking me out for my poop then in again for
another Good Boy Treat. They finally caught on to me and made me do my business on only one trip and one Good Boy Treat. I was able
to get away with it for a few days before they caught on.
I am having fun playing with these old people, and some day I will be able outlast them before having to recharge my battery.
I dictated this to Pa and he typed it for me. I may try this computer thing if I ever get bored.
I miss you and Stacey.
Love,
Dexter Dover Kraft
(Dexie or DD for short.)

Abbey Holley update: we've decided to no longer refer to her as a mixed breed just because her mom was Lab and her dad was Great Dane...we've decided she is a designer dog...a Labradane. We weighed our new Labradane today. She gained 2.4 lbs in 5 days and is up to 18.4 lbs. WHAT A HOG! We are considering getting her a saddle.
A LABOR OF LOVE DOG RESCUE
Hi Lisa,
Carina, or Dakota as we call her, is doing great! She is great with the kids and is getting better at doing as she is told. She is very smart. She loves to play frisbee and will make huge leaps in order to catch them. She loves the water as well both at the beach and in the pool, in the summer of course. We love her. Thanks so much.
The Juodawlkis Family

Hi Lisa & Stacey,
I just wanted to send some updated pictures of Apolo (Xiabo)....he is doing really well and growing fast. He is up to 22 pounds. He has been a great addition to our family. He is just the sweetest dog and we love him to pieces...Nick, Danny, Indy & Apolo became fast friends right away and love to play and pal around..Apolo went swimming for the first time too and did really well. He is learning so much and is so smart..We've been to the vet twice for checkup and shots and go again next Friday..We can't wait for the next shot so we can take him for more walks around the neighborhood and to the park. Right now he is loving playing in the back yard with the boys and Indy. He is growing so fast we've already bought a couple new dog beds...Again thank you for all you do and for Apolo.. Love Jackie, Mike (Nick & Danny) White...

Just wanted to give you a little update: Niah (formerly Amelia) is doing great! She just got her third shots yesterday and weighed 6 lbs.! She goes everywhere in her pink crate with me- to work, to the bank, and even on vacation to Northern Michigan next week. I can't thank you enough for blessing her into my life- I am so happy!
Sorry this has taken so long, but I am not so very computer literate. As you can see, she is getting big and beautiful. She is healthy and (I think) happy. We love her and she really adores our kids. She has been playing soccer with the boys and loving every minute of it. Thanks for letting us adopt her.

Hey Lisa! Hope all is going great! Just wanted to give you an update on how well Mazi is doing!
Mazi is now 9 lbs!! She sure is growing because when I got her she was only about 5 lbs. :)She is very playful and loves to play with every dog she sees. She has fallen in love with my parents dachshund Otis! They are always playing together, and they even snuggle up together and take naps. Cinderella (my roomates dog) is still adjusting to having a puppy who is three times her size in the house. Mazi is doing very well with potty training, and each week she gets better and better at it! I absolutely love her to death and she fits right in with my life. When my friends come over she is right at their feet and they absolutely adore her! She is looking more and more like a dachshund each and every day! I think she gets an inch longer every day. Haha she is very easy going, loving, and very playful! We now have a daily ritual of going on a little walk around the apartment and she absolutely loves it. She runs, and plays and trys to run in all of the bushes! :) More updates to come soon!!!

Merry Christmas,
Thought you would like these. I literally just copied these to my computer this weekend.
Missy is doing great.
She is delightful - and what a personality!! We love her like a daughter, thanks for bringing her into our lives.

Lisa~
I just received your xmas card and thanks so much for the thought! That was a very sweet thing to do! I also sent along a donation via PayPal. :)
We took Demo to the vet last Saturday so I could get him his HeartGuard. The vet said he was the perfect all American Dog! He said the perfect dog would look exactly like Demo and have the health of a horse (which Demo has!)! We could never thank you enough for bringing Demo into our lives. He's been a great dog!
I have also included his first bath pictures. (It was a few weeks ago). And you are right, he is NOT a fan of baths! LOL!

Hi,
Maizi is such a good girl. We love her so much. She still needs to be crated while we are gone for more than a few hours....she loves to find things to chew on. She is learning how to catch a frisbee and her training has been great. She is doing well and is up to 59.6lbs. She is such an amazing girl. The kids love that we take her to their soccer games and baseball/softball games. We love showing her off and she is always draws a huge crowd. She loves people and loves playing with the neighbor dogs. She has run a path in our yard where she runs along the fence line with her friends. Just wanted to give you an update on her and send some pics. She is beautiful and loves being loved on. She sleeps with us or on the overstuffed chair by our bed. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Hi Lisa,
He is doing great! He now goes by the name "Oscar" and is still sweet, lovable ornery and energetic. :) He is getting very big. He has seen the vet twice for shots and checkup and at his visit a week ago he weighed 15lb. Potty training is going well. He has learned to sit, lay down and shake hands with us. I have attached a couple of pictures.
Thanks for your inquiry and have a great day!
Melissa Tabler and family

Hi, Lisa!
Yes, things are going very well! Tiny got a little bigger.. and she seems to be done growing now... about 10lbs. Her and King get along really well. I'm still having a hard time with housebreaking her though. But I've heard little dogs are a bit more ornery. :) All in all though I'd say things are good. She loves to sleep under the covers... and she makes the cutest little gremlin noises. She likes to terrorize King.. and he pretty much lets her. They play a lot and her favorite place to sleep is on top of him...which he doesn't seem to mind.
Anyway.. hope all is well at Labor of Love. I wish we had a big house and could adopt more. If it was up to my son we'd have more. :) I've atached a few pictures. (all with King in them because they're pretty much attached at the hip)
Happy New Year!
Linda

Hello Lisa,
Kipper is doing wonderful! He is a perfect playmate for Zoe ( our other dog). He is very playful and loves attention which he gets plenty of. Very spoiled! I have attached a couple of photos so you can see how he has grown .
It was nice hearing from you,
Richard and Nan

Lisa-
Glacier has been doing great!! (I'd have called you back but he got a hold of my phone yesterday so I have to go get a new one haha). He and Stella are getting used to each other and have really been playing a lot. He is starting to adjust to crate training and has only had one accident on the floor so far....I was beginning to worry because he had hardly went to the bathroom since you brought him but he is doing well now. He follows Stella outside and they chase each other around the yard, go potty, and come back in. We bought him a little sweater and I even caught them cuddling yesterday!! :) thanks so much for raising such a great, adorable little guy!! He is adjusting very well into our family and I only hope it continues :)
Lisa,
Chewy is doing very good. He has quickly become a very very nice addition to our family. He is still and probably always will be a little mischevious, but to me that makes his character.
Best Regards,
Troy

Pixie (trixie) is doing wonderful! She has come so far and is so very happy. She's making eye contact, doing fairly well with house training and learning the run of things around the house. At feeding time, she prances from dish to dish, as they're set down. She's not trying to eat from them, just following and then will sit down at *her spot* and wait for her dish. Not a timid eater any more, she throws it down twice a day and just loves treats! When you say "treats" her ears go straight up & her head tips a little to the side...if I don't get them fast enough, she'll start barking at me with her husky "smokers bark".
Pixie pretty much has my husband wrapped around her little finger (toe?) and lays in his lap every evening @ tv time. In the morning she'll hop up on the bed lick his head and then lay on his pillow, wrapping herself around his head. My husband is always saying "what a cutie" and "what a little sweety". Stick a fork in him, he's done!!
She use to hide under the bed when it was time to go out, especially if it was wet and/or dark. Putting her coat or sweater on is not on her list of favorite things, but tolerates it (at first, she looked like she could snap or nip @ me while I did it). Now, she goes charging full speed out the back door hoping to find a squirrel and then doing a perimeter run of the back yard. I'll have to get this on video for you, it's so cute and wonderful to see her run like that now. When she first got here, she couldn't even begin to keep up and now she's running with the rest of them!
I've also taken her to 2 beginner obedience sessions and she has come a long way with that. Comes (for the most part) when she's called and doesn't charge the door anymore. The class helped with the socializing and trusting other dogs. She is very treat motivated and really runs after a treat tossed across the floor and saying "get it, get it, get it". That's the only time I can get her to chase anything. It also taught her to trust me, make eye contact and focus on me. You should see her prancing across the floor on her leash waiting to get the treat @ the end!
So, I guess you can say that she's doing really good and is an important part of the family. Hopefully, I'll have some video and pictures to follow sometime soon!
Thanks for all that you do and I'll let you know when we're ready to start fostering a dog, and I promised my husband that I won't be a foster mom flunky!
Christina

Addie is doing GREAT! I'm including some pictures. She's definitely a personality! Never a dull moment with our little girl! Thank you again for bringing her into our lives.
He is spoiled rotten...we just love him sooo much and he is so happy.Scooby and him have to ride in the car where ever we go.Charlie sits with his dad looking out and Scooby sits with me.They all play together.Charlie loves his walks that we take at least 3 times a day.He sure is a lover!!! I can not imagine life without him!He just beams happiness. Thanks for letting us have this unique little guy...he's a snuggle bear :) Sue
She can sit, and we are working on shake. She also "goes to her bed (crate)." She loves playing with Wizzie because she can play like a dog. She is much more gentle when playing with the kids. Oh, and she loves fetch. She sleeps with us in our bed every night- she's still a big baby. I still have to get up with her once to let her out around 2am. She is shy around some people but gradually warms up. She hates riding in the car. She drools and has barfed once. I will send you a new pic soon.
Hi,
Kai is such a sweet little girl. She loves playing chase with Dj. She loves going for walks. She loves to watch tv. She heard people crying for help on the tv and she went up to it and started to whine like she could save them. It was so cute. she loves kids.
....

Hi foster mom! Thank you for taking such good care of me :) you picked a good family for me to go to. I get walks everyday and sleep on michele's bed. Maxy and I are getting along great and I like to have him where ever I go. The kitties still are not to sure of me but we are getting better every day. All of michele's friends I meet say I am such a handsome boy! Like you told her, I became attached to michele very quickly and she loves me so much. One day when she had to go to work I was with her mom and I decided to gather all of michele's shoes around the living room. I just missed her SO MUCH! Dont worry, i didnt chew a single one! There are so many smells in the country and I love checking them all out. I give everyone at home big smiles when they come back, they really seem to like that! I also am learning things like sit, lay and shake. They are impressed how fast I learn them. I know how hard it was to give me up but I want to thank you for sending me to the best home for me. I will see you soon, michele says we are going to visit you at one of your next events! Zach stayed at our house sunday night and I decided to sleep with him. He is going to take me for a walk tomorrow and wanted Michele to send some pictures to his cell phone so he could see me when im not with him. I have not had a single accident in the house and have been a very good boy about letting everyone know when i have to go outside. So far my dog brother and sister have shared all their toys with me. They thought about different names for me and even tried some out but I knew what my real name was and ignored them. They decided to keep it Easton. BTW, the picture she sent you is me the night i came to my forever home and was so exhausted after all the days events. I have also claimed the entire couch, glad they dont mind!

Well, our sweet boy continues to do very well. We keep him active, and at night, he is pooped. In addition to walking this weekend, we played a lot in the yard. He just runs and runs. He loves when the boys run back and forth in the yard with him or play kickball. He runs the bases with them. So far, he has not jumped on them or even attempted to do so. Keeping him active is key. Rain or shine, we walk because it is good for him and his excited nature.
Overall, we just cannot get enough of him. Friends who have met him are so impressed with how calm he is and how well he listens. He is just amazing.
Oh, in the photo are his Dino squeaky babies. When the boys get home, he runs and gets them so the boys can throw them. It is so cute, and we see all the puppy in his heart.

Lisa,
I cannot thank you enough for rescuing Frankie's mother and giving her a safe place to bring him into the world. Dave said the other night that it is hard to believe that nobody ever adopted him because he is such a sweet little dog. My response was that Frankie was waiting for us to find him. He is quite at home now, and as you can see by the pictures he has also won the hearts of both Paige and my son's dog, Tana.
You and your family did a wonderful job raising him, rest assured we will love him forever.
Marsha

Hi Lisa,
Just wanted to give you an update on Angelo. He's doing great. I think this past week was a turning point for him; he just really seemed to settle in. Not that the first several weeks were a problem; he was just a bit more hyper; not quite sure what all he should do. He follows the lead of our lab, Vic, a lot. Follows him around the yard and the house. He still would like Vic to play with him, but Vic just tolerates/ignores Angelo's jumping up to him, like he's saying, "Come on, let's go!" They usually lay right next to each other and share a blanket on the floor.
I started him in a basic obedience class just to work on his jumping up and his socialization, although that is really good. Just want to review the basics with him.
Our vet was very impressed with the records and health care that Angelo was given before we adopted him. I don't think too many rescues are as thorough as yours. Angelo was given a very clean bill of health and they thought he was a great dog!
Thanks very much with your help and placement. He's been a great match.
Julie
